Manage Geolocation Settings for Products
Managing products in marketplaces can become complex if you are serving in a large geographical area. You might want to offer certain products to specific locations (or cities) and not all of the locations. This is where the Product Geolocation Tagging comes into picture. An Operator, who is the owner of the marketplace, can define certain locations (or cities) where they serve and a vendor can map products availability against those cities while creating a product.
In this article we will see how Geolocation Settings for products can be managed in Marketcube.
Enabling Geolocation Settings from the Operator's Marketcube
It is important to note here that a vendor can add geolocation tagging to products only if the Operator has enabled the functionality for their marketplace account. Also, a vendor can geolocate products to only those specific locations (or cities) which are defined by the Operator while enabling geolocation tagging.
To enable Geolocation Settings, an Operator has to login to their Marketcube dashboard and follow the below mentioned steps-
- Go to Settings >> Products >> Manage Geolocation.
Operator then needs to check the box to allow vendors for geolocation tagging of products.
As soon as the checkbox is clicked, a 'add city' field is shown right below it to allow the Operator to add multiple cities. These are the cities where the Operator has a marketplace owner wish to serve.
- You can add multiple cities, one-by-one, in this section. Once done, click on the 'Update' button at the bottom right to save these geolocation settings.
