How to manage packing slip tax?
In this article, we will explain what a packing slip is and discuss how taxation can be enabled/disabled from the Operator's Shopify account and how it can be seen in the packing slip in Marketcube.
A packing slip is a document that includes the complete list of items included in a package. Operators and vendors use packing slips when fulfilling an order line item. Using a packing slip an operator or vendor can see whether a product is inclusive of tax or exclusive of tax.
On Marketcube, the inclusion or exclusion of tax visibility on the packing slip depends on the Shopify store setting of the operator. If the operator has enabled the tax from their Shopify store settings then only the taxation will be visible in the packing slip, if the operator has disabled the tax from their Shopify account then it will not be visible to the operator and vendor in the packing slips on Marketcube.
How to Enable/Disable Tax on your Shopify:
1. From your Shopify admin, Click Settings >> Click Taxes.
2. Select your Tax region and in the Tax calculations section, Select the checkbox 'All prices include tax' for enabling tax (Inclusive), if you choose to exclude taxes from prices uncheck this box for disabling the tax (Exclusive), then click Save.
3. After checking the box, all the orders from now onwards will be Tax inclusive.
Here is how the taxation will look on Marketcube and on the packing slip.
If you look into the order on Marketcube you will be able to see the taxation details (as highlighted below).
Once the order will be accepted by the operator or vendor the packing slip can be seen within the order (as shown below).
As highlighted, the information about the inclusion of tax can be seen on the packing slip under the text 'INCLUDES TOTAL TAX'.
Now, let's see another order where is tax is set up Exclusive. In this situation tax is added on to order separately (as shown below).
If we look into the order on Marketcube you will be able to see the taxation details.
Once the order will be accepted by the operator or vendor the packing slip will be found within the order.
As highlighted, the information about the exclusion of tax can be seen in the packing slip under 'EXCLUDES TOTAL TAX.'
