How to connect your Shopify store to marketcube?

In this article we will explain what vendor connect is, and show you how to utilize it to sync your store to Marketcube.

What is Vendor Live Connect?

Live connect allows you to connect your live store to Marketcube. This integration syncs inventory and order management automatically for operators and vendors in real-time. Running a multivendor marketplace has never been simpler.
Vendor Live Connect enables your vendors to connect their existing online stores directly to your marketplace.
Once connected, products and orders sync automatically between their stores and your marketplace, eliminating the need for manual updates on your or vendors' sides.

Vendor Live Connect Example

Let's say your vendor 'Farchioni' already has a Shopify store; they can connect their store to the operator's marketplace from their own Marketcube's Vendor Portal. Then when a customer places an order in your (the operators) marketplace, this order will automatically sync directly to Farchioni's store. Likewise, when there are any changes to products in Farchioni's store,  i.e product goes out of stock or the price changes, these changes will sync to your (the operators) marketplace without Farchioni having to remember to update their products in their Vendor Portal on Marketcube.
As a marketplace operator, you can configure whether you want all the updates to sync automatically or you want to review them prior to them taking place (i.e. you might want to keep stock updates automated but review price updates).

In this article, you will learn how to connect your Shopify store to a marketplace so products, orders and payments sync automatically between the two.

How Vendors can import products by connecting to a Shopify Store

Vendor needs to follow the steps mentioned below to connect their Shopify store within the Marketcube. 

  1. Select Product >> Connect Shop (under Actions tab)  

  • Select Product >> Add Product >> Import products by connecting to a Shopify Store

  • Add in the name of the Shopify Store and click the connect button.

  • Remember you only need to add in the Store name.

  • Accept the terms of service for Shopify Vendor Live Connect by the marketplace. Click the checkbox and Continue to vendor live connect button. 

  • You will see a Shop Connected Successfully confirmation. Your Shop is now connected. Click the import products from your store.

  • Your product sync will run in the background. You can now view the products.

  • To add the products to your marketplace operator account use line by line Manage action or you can use the bulk add function by selecting multiple products. Imported products will be deleted after 15 days, and imported again to get them back.

  • On your account, you can see Connect Shop under the Actions panel on the Products Page. With the newly added products showing as "New". Now your operator can push these products to their Shopify marketplace store.

DISCONNECT SHOP

Finally, the vendor can disconnect the live connected store.

  • The user can navigate to the add Products page and select the option that says  ‘Import products by connecting to a Shopify Store’. If you have a store connected then clicking on the Disconnect shop option opens a modal confirming the disconnection.

  • The second way to disconnect is by clicking on the Connected Shop cross. Once this happens all products from that vendor will no longer be available for the Operator marketplace


Key points to remember:

  • Products and Orders take some time to sync both ways. Please be patient
    • The imported products which are deleted after 15 days does not mean that the products will be deleted from Marketcube or Shopify. It will only remove the products from the Shopify products page in Marketcube. Vendors can again import it if they want.
