What is Metafields and how to set it up?
In this article, we will learn about Metafield's functionality and how to set it up in Marketcube.
How to enable Metafields in Marketcube.
1. Log in as an Operator >> Click on the Settings Icon >> Navigate to "Products" >> Click Show >> Click "Product Manage Metafields".
2. On the "Product Manage Metafields" page there are two options
A. Manage Namespace & Key
B. Manage Metafields

- To Create or Add Metafields in Marketcube >> click on "+Add Metafields".
- Once you click on "+Add Metafields" two fields will Appear to define the "Name & type" of the Metafield. Here you can also define whether the Meta field is a must-required field or not.
- Once you enter the Metafields Name and select the Metafields type >> then one new box will appear to select the Maximum length of the Meta field value.
- Once you Update all the information click on "Save"
- Once you save the Metafields, they will show on the Metafields page >> then another option of advanced Meta fields will appear on the Metafields Page.
C. Advanced Metafields
Advanced Metafields allow the operator to enable Meta fields on the basis of categories(collections).
There are two options to show meta fields.
- Enable all meta fields:-
By selecting this, all the above-mentioned meta fields will be displayed for the products that do not have any category.
Also for the below-given category under collections, mentioned meta fields will be displayed only.
(The operator can select selective or all existing Metafields for the categories, that he/she selects under collections)
- Enable meta fields only for selected categories
By selecting this, only the below selected metafield(s) will be displayed for the below mentioned categories. If the product do not have any category, no metafield will be displayed for the respective product.
Important Notes
- Once the operator creates and fills the Metafields in Marketcube then he/she needs to contact Shopify once to make the meta fields visible on your store.
The namespace is the group that your Meta field will belong to, and the key is the specific Meta field name. A namespace is a declarative region that provides a scope to the identifiers (the names of types, functions, variables, etc) inside it. Namespaces are used to organize code into logical groups and to prevent name collisions that can occur especially when your code base includes multiple libraries

Once you hide the Manage Namespace & Key then it will not show to fill at the time of creating new meta fields.
Once the operator enables or creates metafields in the Marketcube then Metafilds will show in the product form of the operator/vendor at the time of adding the product as well after adding the product.
In case of adding the product using CSV, the Metafilds section will be there while the operator/vendor downloads/export the CSV from Marketcub
